Meet Kevin Cromer. Kevin grew up in Spartanburg and has been an integral part of the local mental health community since 2014. He started his career in mental health as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department Behavioral Health Unit at Spartanburg Medical Center. He later pursued advanced education at Walden University and became an ANCC-Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner working at MGC Psychiatry as a PMHNP. While working within the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, Kevin was able to assist patients through all aspects of their mental health care; from emergency/crisis, inpatient (voluntary and involuntary units), to outpatient care. Kevin believes that every individual's journey is unique, and having a provider that is there to walk alongside you, supporting and empowering you to reclaim your life is important. This belief was the foundation to opening Upstate Mental Health, LLC, this first Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-owned office in Spartanburg, SC.
Meet Danielle Berry. Danielle grew up in Pauline, South Carolina and has spent her entire life in the Spartanburg area. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from USC Upstate in 2010 and her Doctorate in Nursing with a specialization in Mental Health as an ANCC-Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Danielle most recently served as a forensic nurse and sexual assault nurse examiner in both a clinician and an educator role. In this role she provided expert care to patients experiencing sexual assault, intimate partner violence, child abuse/neglect, and vulnerable adult abuse/neglect. Her dedication to a trauma-informed care approach ensures that she meets clients where they are on their mental health journey, delivering compassionate, comprehensive care. Danielle brings a wealth of dedication and expertise to Upstate Mental Health, LLC.
Meet Megan Bishop. Megan is a Spartanburg native that has always wanted to give back to the people of the community that helped shape her into the person and dedicated therapist that she is today. Her passion for mental health started back in high school psychology class where a spark was lit. That spark grew into a burning desire to help others. Megan obtained her degree in psychology at Anderson University and her Masters of Social Work from the University of South Carolina. With 15 years of experience, Megan has worked with a wide range of mental health disorders, helping people of all ages as well as families. Megan is ready to meet each person where they are, uplifting and supporting them. Megan prides herself on maintaining respect and dignity for any and all clients.
Meet Ashley Cromer. Ashley was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC. Ashley's journey into the world of nursing began at Lander University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2016. Driven by her passion for patient care, she pursued further education and earned her Masters Degree in Nursing from the same esteemed institution, specializing as a Clinical Nurse Leader. Her career took off in the bustling Emergency Department of Spartanburg Medical Center, where she discovered her true calling – providing care and support to those struggling with mental health challenges. Today, Ashley brings her wealth of experience and expertise to Upstate Mental Health, LLC, serving as both the Practice Manager and Clinical Nurse Leader. Her tireless dedication and warm demeanor create an inspiring atmosphere for both patients and staff. With Ashley leading the way, Upstate Mental Health, LLC is more than just a healthcare provider; it's a sanctuary where patients find solace, support, and hope for a brighter future.
